Okay y’all, for breakfast I combined several of my favorite foods and so I had to share. Woo hoo! Chocolate and avocado! Oh my! Okay, maybe my exuberance is a bit much, but-!
So, first I toasted some bread. I must say that the small loaves of boule at Whole Foods are all vegan! Today, I’m eating the French Boule. They are relatively inexpensive and yummy and smallish. As a single person, buying a large loaf of bread does not make sense unless I’m having company.

So I started out by toasting my bread. Then I spread my favorite chocolate hummus on it (yes, there is chocolate hummus. I have only tried two types, but my favorite (so far) is the Boar’s Head. I eat it with chips, pita, etc.

So, then I sliced my avocado. You can do this beforehand also; it’s just I was multi-tasking and doing such mundane tasks as making coffee, feeding dogs, and answering texts. You know how mornings are.
Then I spooned the avocado on my toast and voila! I had a uyummy breakfast.
FYI
HOW TO SLICE AN AVOCADO: You may be thinking that everyone knows how to do this, but on the off-chance someone doesn’t know how I am going to share.
First you slice the avocado in half and remove the pit. My daughter, Bootsie, hits the pit with the knife to remove it, but I’m a big chicken, so I just remove the pit with my hands.
Then I make horizontal lines. Sometimes I make vertical lines to, like I did in the picture to the right. It all depends upon what size I want the avocado pieces to be. Then you take a spoon and spoon it out. So easy!
